Cannes Film Festival 2025 Ends with Star-Studded Closing Ceremony

CANNES, France — The 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival 2025 came to an exciting close on Saturday, May 24, with a glamorous red carpet and closing ceremony at the Palais des Festivals.

Before the winners were announced, stars from around the world walked the red carpet one last time, all hoping to see which of the 22 films would win the top prize, the Palme d’Or.

Cate Blanchett stood out in a long black Louis Vuitton dress, while Jane Fonda, aged 87, impressed in a stylish nude two-tone gown. Simone Ashley was friendly with other guests, and Daniel Auteuil arrived with his wife, Aude Ambroggi.

Jury president Juliette Binoche looked elegant in a midnight blue skirt with pearls, paired with a simple white T-shirt and jacket. Halle Berry wore a white lace gown, while Rossy de Palma chose a bold black dress.

Other stars included Elle Fanning, Claude Lelouch, Géraldine Nakache, Camélia Jordana, and Hafsia Herzi.

The jury, including Jeremy Strong, Leïla Slimani, and Hong Sang-soo, were welcomed with applause as they prepared to announce the winners.

Even though there was a power cut earlier in the day, the ceremony went ahead without problems, ending the festival on a high note.
